Airport - Casino Project in Quang Ninh Approved by the Government (27 February 2012 14:56)

International Airport and entertainment complex (including casino) in Van Don are two important projects on which the Prime Minister Nguyen Tan Dung focused at the meeting of 2012 Investment Promotion in Quang Ninh.

2012 Investment Promotion in Quang Ninh dated 24th February were attended by most of top ranking government officials, economic gurus and local and foreign investors.  


Van Don Airport is a potential project, according to Mr. Bui Quang Vinh, the Minister of Planning and Investment and Mr. Alexander Feldman, chairman of the US - ASEAN Business Association. Convenient location of the airport can help connecting Van Don New Economic Zone with Southeast Asia as well as the huge market of China.

The Quang Ninh provincial leaders previously said Van Don International Airport Project would be worth about one billion dollars; this is the 4E level airport under international standards, capable of accommodating aircraft as large as Airbus A320, Boeing 777 and so on. From this airport, flights can access to many major cities in East Asia over a period of no more than 2 hours.


This is considered a key project in Quang Ninh in the coming years with estimated investment capital up to over $ 4 billion, built on an area of ​​2,000 hectares in Van Yen, Van Don District. The world-class casino plays as the highlight of this resort.


Mr. Vuong Dinh Hue, the Minister of Finance stated that it is developing a proposal to raise funds from land properties and infrastructure on the land. Once implemented, this project can help Quang Ninh as well as the country mobilize about VND100 trillion at the end of 2012.

 

In addition, the Ministry is also working with the World Bank to lend USD250 million to develop infrastructure over Quang Ninh.
